OUR MISSION

At Our Shoes, our mission is to bridge continents through the power of individual acts of kindness. By offering pre-loved shoes new homes we reignite hope, restore dignity, and open doors to opportunity in African townships. Empowering children in need to walk with dignity, pursue their passions, and step confidently towards a brighter future, we create meaningful connections that transcend borders and uplift communities with every step.

Today is International Day of Charity, and we just wanted to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone who supported us during our 2024 campaign. Your generosity and belief in our mission have made a real difference!❤️🥰

We have been sorting your donations this week! We now have 11,500 pairs of shoes sorted and boxed, ready for shipping to the kids in the townships of South Africa.

It's been a fantastic few days working with a great bunch of volunteers, we couldn't have done it without them

We are taking a break for a few days to get some rest and catch up on day jobs, but expect Campaign 24 will have accumulated an impressive total of more than 15,000 pairs of pre loved shoes 💞👏

As we return from our unforgettable trip to Cape Town, we're deeply moved by the profound impact of our visits to various NGOs like @jagfoundation, @catchtrust, @sohk_sa and @coolplay.sa where we distributed your generous donations.

Some visits truly hit home, revealing the stark need in South Africa. At @vusaacademy we witnessed firsthand how they provide hot meals for children as part of their support and mentorship program, often the only meal these children may have all day.

Great news for us this week! Part of the In My Shoes team landed in South Africa this weekend, to oversee the distribution of your much-needed donations to those in need.

One of our trustees Ciaran took part in his first ever @Parkrun at Green Point, Cape Town. He had the great opportunity of running with @geordin.hill.lewis, the Mayor of Cape Town and @bruce_fordyce, South African world record marathon and ultramarathon athlete - keen supporters of the In My Shoes initiative and helping to spread the word.
